The CrossFit Games 2021 are on the horizon, and many of the participants are incredibly excited. Apart from the usual men's and ladies' competitions, there will be some women's events. We're all familiar with the Reebok's equipment, the Pegboard contest, and the Cutting system. But what do we know about the womens' competition? Keep reading to find the answer! Competition for women

The women's competition at the 2021 Crossfit Games began this morning with the swim event. Jonne Koski and Tia-Clair Toomey Orr won the first event. Koski took the overall title after she held her lead through the entire competition. Tall and Eramo O'Connell finished second and third, respectively. It was the first Games women's event and the women hoped to complete it.

The women's competition features top-level female athletes. The field comprises nine athletes, one of whom is a teenager who won the competition in Australia last summer. Kara Saunders from Australia, who placed second in Australia and 11th globally in 2020 are other contenders. Andrea Nisler, a rising star who competed for the team division in 2018, finished third in America and fifteenth overall in 2020. This competition will include these athletes and Sara Sigmundsdottir of Iceland, a newcomer to Crossfit. She won the first place Medal at the World Crossfit Games earlier.

Pegboard contest

Pegboard at Crossfit Games 2020 was a first. It was added to Crossfit Games' summer Olympic program alongside double-unders & dumbbell overhead Squats. Toomey-Orr set the record for most wins in a single Games event with 30. Sager won Event 11 (for men) and was awarded his third Games win. While there were many tie-breakers, ToomeyOrr's dominance was enough to win the contest.

CrossFit Games are a competition where athletes focus on ten skills that improve their physical fitness: speed, agility, cardiovascular endurance, strength and flexibility. The Pegboard contest tests a competitor's grip strength and coordination. Competitors hold two wooden pegs between each hand and compete to win. After completing the Pegboard, the competition was intense and athletes felt a sense of accomplishment.


Cutting system

CrossFit Games will use a cutting system again for individual competitions. This is not as extreme as past Games cuts, but it is very different this year. The competition consists of 15 individual events, so a first cut to 30 athletes is likely after the seventh or eighth event. The question is: How will CrossFit adjust points after cuts? The scoring table used in the 2019 games was nearly identical to the one used in 2021, so it's likely that this will continue to be the case.

The CrossFit Games' largest ever field, consisting of 236 athletes this year, is the largest ever. Major cuts are made in the first six events. The field is then reduced to 75 athletes. The top 30 finishers compete in a sprint pairt to determine who is the top ten. The top 20 competitors then compete for the remaining six events. Castro's system has been criticized by veterans Games athletes who feel that the cuts are too significant.

Reebok equipment

Reebok has released new CrossFit Games shoes, clothing and equipment. The Nano X1 shoes are the new model. They are designed to suit multiple fitness requirements. Although Reebok calls this shoe "the shoe for fitness", it feels more like a training shoe. DuPont's Kevlar, which promotes durability, breathability, and strength, is the shoe's upper. The firm midsole and RopePro tech enhance the responsiveness of the shoes.

Reebok's contract with CrossFit will end at the end of 2020, and the Games will be without a title sponsor. Reebok has sponsored the Games for more than a decade. It is now evident that their involvement in the Games will decrease. The company will no longer call itself the "Reebok CrossFit Game", as it currently does.
